11 million LoRaWAN® sensors: Our LoRaWAN® network continues to grow.
Published:30. Apr 2026It was only in September 2025 that the ten-millionth sensor was integrated into the Minol-ZENNER Group’s LoRaWAN network. Since then, our network has continued to grow steadily and the next milestone has already been reached: there are currently 11 million devices active on the network.
This sustained growth underscores the growing importance of scalable networks for digitalisation. In the water sector in particular, it is becoming increasingly important to operate infrastructure in a high-performance and resilient manner. Continuous monitoring is becoming a key prerequisite for future-proof network operation.
ZENNER has set itself the goal of rolling out its current Smart Water solutions nationwide by 2026. To this end, we offer Smart Water solutions for the entire process chain – from water level monitoring and water body monitoring, through ensuring distribution within the supply network, to transparent consumption metering in buildings.
“ZENNER is a very special partner for us: not only does the company operate the world’s largest LoRaWAN® network, but it also brings a wealth of experience in the fields of metering, sub-metering and smart city projects. This combination of practical experience and in-depth industry knowledge is extremely valuable for the further development of LoRaWAN,”
explains Alper Yegin, CEO of the LoRa Alliance®.
This new milestone underscores the importance of LoRaWAN® as a key technology for municipal utilities and the water sector.
