Our LoRaWAN Network Availability
ZENNER Connect operates a secure LoRaWAN® network for the housing and real estate industry, municipalities, energy suppliers and industrial companies. ZENNER Connect is registered with the Federal Network Agency as a LoRaWAN® network operator. As such, this registration is no longer necessary for our managed services network customers.
Our LoRaWAN® network availability is growing day by day: We are already present in numerous European countries such as Germany, Austria, Italy, Denmark and Sweden and are continuously expanding our network availability. At many locations in Germany, customers can already use outdoor, indoor and even deep indoor coverage for a variety of IoT applications. What’s more, we also make our LoRaWAN® network available in the USA and the United Arab Emirates.
Our network visualisation allows you to quickly and easily gain an overview of which regions have ZENNER Connect LoRaWAN® network availability. If our network is already available in your local area, you can get started directly by implementing your IoT applications without additional hardware.

What you view on the map
The initial view shows at a glance all countries in which we are already represented as ZENNER Connect, highlighted in blue. If you zoom into the map, the display changes to the hexagon view. The colouring of the hexagons reflects the number of gateways in the respective area – the darker the hexagon, the more gateways in the respective area, the more likely there is network availability. Depending on the zoom level, the hexagon circumference increases or decreases.
By clicking on the antenna icon, the display changes to the simulation view. In this view, the supply of all gateways is simulated and superimposed depending on their type (indoor/outdoor gateway, mounting height). The simulation is based on the Irregular Terrain Model (ITM) and takes into account not only the properties of gateways but also the topology around the installation site. This makes it possible to make a reliable statement regarding the expected availability even in challenging terrain.

Data security
The LoRaWAN® network of ZENNER Connect GmbH is the optimum technological infrastructure for a variety of applications in the housing and real estate industry, in the municipal multi-utility network as well as for energy suppliers and industrial companies. The reliable and secure handling of all applications and data is in safe hands with us.
Securing the LoRaWAN network operation
The network operation is configured and secured by our Network Operation Centre in Germany. Faults in the network are eliminated automatically or by the ZENNER Connect Network Operation Centre, depending on the type and cause of the fault. This makes it possible to rectify faults in a very timely manner.
Network management
We provide all the necessary systems for secure network operation. If desired, we can operate your LoRaWAN® network for you as managed services, perform troubleshooting and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and obligations As a member of the international LoRa Alliance®, we are actively working on the further development of the worldwide open standard and guarantee the constant implementation of the LoRaWAN® specifications for our customers.

Would you like to set up your LoRaWAN® network yourself, operate it on your own and ensure the greatest possible freedom in the configuration? Then ZENNER Connect is the right partner for you. We provide you with all the necessary technical components for connectivity and support you in all aspects of your network setup. Municipal utilities, municipalities, energy suppliers and industrial companies are independent of third parties through the use of LoRaWAN®. The network availability required to implement IoT applications can be established easily, quickly and cost-effectively by installing LoRaWAN® gateways.
Municipal utilities in particular can reap the benefits of this model and contribute their core competencies (provision of ideal locations, field service, WAN connection). ZENNER Connect offers cooperation models specially tailored to municipal utilities and energy providers for the setup and operation of LoRaWAN® networks. An existing LoRaWAN® network can be expanded at any time with additional indoor and/or outdoor gateways. Depending on requirements, you can implement an outdoor application with a few gateways and expand the coverage, e.g. in the building, for further applications with additional gateways at a later time.

The ZENNER IoT GatewayPLUS SMART as well as the ZENNER IoT GatewayPLUS Indoor are ideal for receiving your LoRaWAN® devices and sensors inside a building and in the immediate vicinity, in order to receive the values of sensors that are sometimes difficult to access on several floors as well as in basements, garages, gardens, car parks – without any additional repeaters. Our gateways can be used across various sectors for a wide range of IoT applications.
The ZENNER IoT GatewayPLUS Outdoor is ideally suited for LoRaWAN® coverage in rural and urban areas to receive values from multiple sensors. The device can be used across various sectors for a variety of IoT applications and is an integral part of ZENNER IoT system solutions. With just a few gateways, entire cities can be covered. Due to the very robust housing made of coated aluminium, the Outdoor Gateway is very resilient to extreme weather conditions and is characterised by a high degree of reliability.

Network planning
ZENNER Connect takes care of the network planning for you. If several locations are under consideration for the installation of gateways, we determine which locations are most suitable and how many gateways are needed to achieve the network availability and stability you require.
Planning security
The experience of our employees and our simulation software specially developed for LoRaWAN® gives you the much needed planning security for your IoT projects. In order to verify the optimum use of the planned locations, ZENNER Connect offers a walk-through of all planned locations and creates a network availability profile based on the measuring results. In addition, any questions regarding the installation situation and local conditions are clarified.
LoRaWAN network operation
With ZENNER Connect as your partner, you can use our entire LoRaWAN® network. If you have already installed your own gateways and are operating them with another LoRaWAN® network server, we will check compatibility in advance.
Individual configuration
A configuration suitable for ZENNER Connect infrastructure is generally not a problem. Contact us to plan your switchover to ZENNER Connect. We will support you with on-site installation and provide you with advice on all project steps.
