Zenner impresses with digital solutions at the IoT Solutions World Congress 2025

The IoT Solutions World Congress 2025 (IOTSWC) took place in Barcelona from May 13 to 15, 2025 under the motto “Connect to the Next Level”. Zenner presented innovative IoT and LoRaWAN solutions at the LoRa Alliance stand. The company was also recognized for its support in the further development of the LoRaWAN standard.

The IoT Solutions World Congress 2025 (IOTSWC) is one of the world’s leading trade fairs for the Internet of Things (IoT) and brings together technology providers, industry experts and trailblazers every year. At the LoRa Alliance stand this year, Zenner presented the IUWS ultrasonic water meter, which enables particularly reliable and seamless metering. The parallel radio function enables the meter to send measurement data via wireless M-Bus and LoRaWAN simultaneously. The new Zenner IoT Gateway Outdoor 16 also attracted a lot of attention – a powerful gateway that was specially developed for the requirements of IoT applications and offers reliable, energy-saving data transmission over long distances.

Today, Zenner operates the largest LoRaWAN network in Europe – with more than nine million networked measuring devices and sensors. This makes Zenner one of the world’s leading providers of IoT solutions for smart cities, energy suppliers and municipal utilities.

“It is clear that IoT is revolutionizing the way cities work. LoRaWAN technology provides reliable, low-power connectivity for cities and is the backbone of many smart city initiatives,” explains Jan-Philipp Exner, Senior Project Engineer Smart City at Zenner.

The Zenner team was also represented on stage at the IOTSWC: In a technical presentation, Jan-Philipp Exner and Florian Andersch, Business Unit Development and Innovation Management at Stadtwerke Amberg Versorgungs GmbH, explained how municipal utilities are making their infrastructures more efficient with the help of LoRaWAN-based IoT solutions. Boris Stöckermann, Head of Business Development, Strategy, Marketing & eCommerce at Minol-Zenner, also took part in a panel discussion with international experts on the added value of LoRaWAN for smart buildings and intelligent facility management.

A special highlight: Zenner was honored by the LoRa Alliance during the congress for its commitment to the further development of the LoRaWAN standard. Ralph Stillinger, Firmware Engineering Manager at Zenner USA, was honored with the Leadership Award for his dedication, leadership and positive impact on the Alliance and its members. Richard Sanders, General Manager of Zenner USA, received the Distinguished Service Award.

Boris Stöckermann summarizes: “IoT works and is no longer an experiment – now the business model decides. The discussions in Barcelona were full of inspiration and trend-setting impulses.”

At the IOTSWC in Barcelona, Zenner once again demonstrated its role as a pioneer in the field of IoT and LoRaWAN. With a clear focus on sustainability, efficiency and customer benefits, the company is consistently driving forward the development of resilient infrastructures.
