Tausendwasser 2025: ZENNER impresses with digital solutions for the water industry

ZENNER can look back on its successful participation in the Tausendwasser trade fair in Berlin with a thoroughly positive conclusion. From March 26 to 27, ZENNER presented pioneering digital solutions for sustainable and resilient water management.

Tausendwasser 2025 was all about the challenges facing water suppliers in the face of climate change, water scarcity and increasing demands for the environmentally friendly use of resources. ZENNER showed how digitalization and IoT technologies such as LoRaWAN® can contribute to solving the current challenges.

The trade fair presentation focused on many innovative ideas for sustainable water management: from digital data acquisition and intelligent leak detection with LoRaWAN® to water quality monitoring, ZENNER offers a broad portfolio for the digitalization of all process steps in water supply.

ZENNER’s complete IoT solution Element Suite, a central platform for data collection and processing, attracted particular interest. Element Suite enables water suppliers to monitor and analyze sensor and meter data and react proactively to faults. In combination with wireless technologies such as LoRaWAN® and Wireless M-Bus, leaks can be detected at an early stage, water losses avoided and supply reliability increased.

Leakage detection in practice at Tausendwasser 2025

One highlight at the stand was the leakage detection pilot project implemented in collaboration with Stadtwerke Stade and HST Systemtechnik. With the help of multifunctional sensors that record parameters such as flow rate, pressure and temperature, as well as data transmission with LoRaWAN®, ZENNER was able to present a practical example of the benefits of smart network monitoring to trade fair visitors. The demo impressively showed how data analysis and automation can minimize water losses and reduce operating costs.

ZENNER presented another trade fair highlight with its new “Metering as a Service” solution package. The offer combines modern ultrasonic meters with parallel radio (LoRaWAN® and Wireless M-Bus), an intuitive configuration app and the certified “ZENNER Datahub” platform. The solution enables cost-efficient, secure and scalable data collection – especially for municipal utilities and local authorities that already operate LoRaWAN® networks.

“Our goal is to provide our customers with holistic support in the digitalization of their water systems – from measurement and analysis to integration into existing IT systems,” explained René Claussen, Head of the Measuring Systems, IoT and Digital Solutions business unit at ZENNER. “Tausendwasser was the ideal place for us to present our vision of resilient, networked and sustainable water management.”

In addition to the technological exchange, ZENNER used the trade fair to network with municipal decision-makers, public utilities, planners and trade associations. The high visitor frequency at the trade fair stand confirmed the growing demand for digital solutions in the water industry.

ZENNER returned from Tausendwasser with many new contacts, concrete project inquiries and a clear signal for the future. The trade fair has shown once again: The digital transformation of the water industry is no longer a vision – it is a reality. ZENNER offers the right solutions for this.
